Commercial Fishing Bristol Bay is, perhaps, the world’s single most concentrated source of wild fish stocks. Each summer huge runs of salmon return to the two major rivers flowing into Bristol Bay. There highly regulated commercial fishing boats, small family subsistence users, and sport fishermen capture their share of the year’s harvest. The frenzy of activity during the few weeks of fishing season can be highly lucrative for locals, seasonal fishermen and processors.
